Color Separation

What is Color Separation?

Color Separation is a technique that is commonly used in Screen Printing and, as its name indicates, it consists of dividing the image into isolated layers (channels), one for each color that composes it and then use them in the frames in the printing process.

When do we use Color Separation?

This technique allows to reproduce both gradients and transparencies so that it becomes the complement of the files that we cannot reproduce with the vectorization method. On the other hand, it is possible to make frames on the colors that can be obtained more colors so it is very useful for images that exceed the maximum amount of colors allowed for the vectorization method.
